      To Our Supporters:
  • Click here to find flyers requesting volunteers needed at the McHenry County Fair Aug. 4-8th. Please post or share the flyers at your churches with the permission of the pastors. Scheduled times are from (9:30 am to 12noon; 12noon to 4pm; 4pm to 8pm) Wednesday, Aug. 4 through Sunday, August 8th.

  • We are in need of a 9x12ft. rug for the booth and bottled water. Any assistance to help at this year’s fair booth is greatly appreciated. Last year we gave out over 600 balloons to the children and shared 1st WAY’s services with all who stopped by the booth.

Be the Best Parent You Can Be!

Programs:

Earn While You Learn

A NEW PROGRAM GREW OUT OF THE MENTORING PROGRAM:
"EARN WHILE YOU LEARN"

Pregnancy and parenting are filled with lots of uncertainty. This program helps to answer many of the questions our clients have and ease their anxiety. Many people want to learn how to be good parents and raise a healthy, happy child. The center staff is available to provide support and resources during this time of transition and change. The lessons are fun, interesting and practical.

As a part of our Earn While You Learn Parenting Program, our clients are given an opportunity to earn credits that they can use to 'purchase' new infant clothing and items.

At our center we provide our clients with an opportunity to learn how to be the best parent they can be. Earn While You Learn will help them to understand what to expect in pregnancy and beyond.

Through regular lessons that include videos and worksheets, they will learn important and interesting information about their pregnancy and their baby. There are a number of topics to choose from and our staff will put together a lesson plan that is unique to their needs. And best of all, they will work with a volunteer who will be able to help them better understand the challenges and joys that lie ahead for them and their baby.

Is Earn While You Learn for me?

  • Listen to what others have to say:
    • "I enjoy the knowledge I receive in the Earn While You Learn classes. I was amazed by the amount of information I was given. It all makes me feel more comfortable with what I am going through, because I know more about what to expect."         Nicole, Expecting Mother
    • "This program has been a blessing for me. I am expecting my fourth child and I have learned so much I never knew about. I have the ability to learn and to learn Mommy Money to be able to purchase anything from diapers and clothes to car seats. This program has helped me and everyone is so wonderful here."
Deena, Mother of 3 children and e expecting her 4th.
    • "I really appreciate this program. It's interesting and a lot of help to me and my family. I really didn't know how I was going to make it before I took these classes."        Mother of 3 year-old & infant.
